    wont pickup the CD-drive at all????

    Is it listed in device manager ?

    Have you done anyhting to cause the problem ?

    did but its a 8 year old computer just rcovered and it like disapberd when we did the updates

    Go back into device manager, uninstall it, reboot the pc. See if windows finds it.

    i did and it picks it up as a removable disk
      My Computer

    right click on it`s icon and see if it will eject.
