Win7 peasants are revolting -recject my Admin authority

I am the only user account 'AaLF' on the PC. I am designated an Administrator and I do not have a password.

When trying to uninstall some programs (2) they have rejected my admin ranking & demand I log back in as an Administrator. This challenge to my absolute authority will not tolerated. It's going to be 'off with their heads'...... as soon as you guys get me out of this fix.

    Hello AaLF,

    LOL, darn rebels.

You might see if enabling and logging in to the built-in Administrator account to do it may let you. :)

Damn. The Palace is surrounded. Logged off & back in as 'built-in' Administrator. The peasants sent him scurring back to the castle with the same message tied around his neck.
"This setup program needs Administrator rights. Plz log off & back in as admin."
I'm trying to uninstall a program called WinPatrol. Now what??

Double check to see if this below may help from WinPatrol's site to make sure WinPatrol is still not running while trying to uninstall it.

    BillP Studio: WinPatrol Download

    Removing WinPatrol

Uninstalling WinPatrol works like any other Windows programs that follows guidelines from Microsoft.

If you see the Scotty icon in your system tray just right-click on the Scotty icon to display the WinPatrol menu.

To exit the program select Exit Program and WinPatrol will stop monitoring your system.

To Remove WinPatrol completely from your system go to the Windows Control Panel and choose the Programs & Features applet. This applet provides a list of currently installed programs including WinPatrol. Just click on WinPatrol and follow the Uninstall instructions. WinPatrol will be removed and will no longer start each time your computer is rebooted.

Have you tried the take ownership shortcut? How about granting yourself full control under permissions?

    Great find Jack. :)

    AaLF,

Be sure to right click on the downloaded program and click on "Run as administrator".

If the "Remover" doesn't work, go to installation directory and find the Uninstaller - they come in all sorts of names like Unins000, Uninstaller, Uninstall, Unwise (LOL) Un1, etc, and take Ownership of that/ try running that as Administrator.
