The actual key to tap repeatedly to boot via the BIOS is often given on the first boot screen, and is never Enter.

Asus - F8
HP/Compaq - Esc
Sony - F2
Acer - F12
Gateway - F10
eMachnes - F10
Toshiba - F12
Dell - F12
IBM/Lenovo - the blue Thinkvantage button

If in doubt you can always ask here. You don't need to guess.

You are correct, when you see the words " Press any key to boot from cd " hit enter only once and the install will start. I just went through this battle on 1 of my pcs. It ran a pentium D 2.8 64 bit fine for years, then it just started giving me trouble. No matter which piece of hardware I swapped I would get a bluescreen, even after the install was done. I tried 3 different D`s to no avail. I ended up putting in a P4 3.2 and installing 32 bit. The thing runs perfectly. I think it`s the crappy Machspeed MB. One day it started reading the memory wrong and has been flakey ever since. Oh well, My daughter`s happy with it.

Op i think what greg was asking was if you were installing it from the cd. And not from just going into my computer and starting it from there. You will need to boot into the like greg said. Their shouldnt be any problem with your cpu handling a 64bit Os

Windows 7 Ultimate x32

Hallo everyone,

Here i am again.

I want to thank you for your suggestions. I installed the 64 bit version working only by 1 slot (2 gb)
and after the successful installation, a tried to put and the second memory.

My pc recognized 4 GB RAM but while attempting to put the third one, didn't open.

At this point, upgrading BIOS was the key point. After that, 8 GB RAM are now installed and working!

Thank you all!!!

Windows 7 on a Pentium M?
I have an older laptop with Pentium M 1.6 GHz, 1GB RAM, an Intel graphics card on the mobo. I am having trouble sharing files with a box with 64 bit Windows 7. Someone said it's better to have the same OS. Is it possible to run 32 bit Win 7 on the oldie (of course, with Aero off)? Thanks!
