The i7 wont perform much better in games to be honest M8, it would be a diffrence of under 5-8fps. But the extra cores would help for heavy video editing. Go with the 3570k for now, and when haswell is released in july upgrade to a haswell i7 or i5 then. the i7 now would be a waste of money as you would problably not notice much any way
See I'm thinking now just upgrade to a AMD 7970 for now and when Haswell arrives upgrade the CPU and Motherboard, I just went on a rammed 64 slot b2k map and got 98 gpu usage with around Min 49 avg 58 max 90 fps with my Vram hitting 1486mb, I think I will benefit more with a GPU upgrade for the time being, what do you think??
Thanks for the reply mate.
Yes i agree. A gpu now and when haswell comes out.... Take the plunge and get one
Yep I agree, to be honest the CPU side of things with AMD is pretty much dead now, I'll definitely be going to Intel mid next year :)
Thanks again Pedroc have a awesome New Year.
Same for you. I am thinking of making a new rig this year with a fx6300 or fx64000(steamroller). But im also thinking of haswell
Will be nice to see how the fx6400 performs
I am allready surprised at the 6300. It nearly catches up with 3570k in some cases
Thats what I Love with my fx 6200, it overclocks easily and runs everything easily, but still will be nice to see what they do with steamroller.
I think amds plan was a good idea. There was a 30% improvment from bulldozer to pile driver. And if they continue.... By excavator they will have an amzing 8core chip that may well match i7s
