In that case when you get to Steps 6/7 of Clean Install Windows 7 you can delete all partitions, then create and format new one(s) if you have a certain layout in mind. Otherwise once you delete all partitions, just click next and the installer will create the install partition and begin install for you. This gives you a clean slate for install.

That was very nice of you Doc, excellent

I`m also here M if you need help. The Partition Wizard CD Doc gave you is a very simple tool to use and I use it every time I work on a pc to set up my partitions. No one ever showed me how to use it, but once you learn, it`s so simple. There is a video on the Partition Wizard website that shows you how to use it. But in a nutshell, you simply turn on the pc and drop the cd into the cd/dvd drive. ( you say yours doesn`t work ) please confirm that. After you REBOOT ( restart ) the pc with the disc in the drive, you will come to a screen asking you to boot from the PW cd and that option is already highlighted. If you don`t hit enter, it will then just try to boot to windows. After you hit enter it will run a DOS looking screen for a minute. You will then come to a screen asking you to pick a screen resolution, you simply choose #1 default and it brings you finally to the Partition Wizard screen. Even if you don`t use it you should still learn how to use it. The video is here.

If you don`t want to make any changes to the install partition ( the partition you want to put windows on ) you simply format it and I always set that partition active. You do this by right clicking on the partition and a drop down menu will appear with all the available options.

Have you run all of your Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3). There will be several reboots before they're done.

If those drivers are still missing afterwards then I'd install the PC chipset from the HP Support Downloads webpage for your exact model. Then watch performance carefully to see if any features are lacking or performance is not perfect in any way. This may point to a needed driver, hotfix or additional software (like for cam) from the same Downloads page.

Otherwise you can trace the exact make/model device using Hardware Identification, post back for more help, or if you want to install TeamViewer Download with all defaults I will be glad connect and do it for you, even optimize our PC a bit if you want.
