PW surface test freezes, robocopy freezes. I/O device errors during normal copy. PW freezes on paritition copy.
Disk is damaged!!! chkdsk can fix errors but not total faulty blocks on disk. Since you have saved what was savable you can try everything with the disk.
chkdsk can only be performed on volumes with a drive letter so "data" and "local disk" in your case. "data" has already been copied succesfully. You can try chkdsk to check "local disk"
But I think it freezes as well.
Is there any way to repair the HDD (maybe physically) and could I use it again (or just leave it to rot).
Is it cheaper to repair my old hdd or buy a new one?
Warranty isn`t too complicated, either you have 1 on the pc or you don`t.
I don`t wanna read 189 post, so...... how old is the HD ?
