You may want to look at a custom built Laptop, I wanted close to what you wanted i7, 12 GB ram, SSD + a HHD , 17" screen. Here is where I order it from Gaming Laptops - XOTIC PC - Gaming Notebooks - Custom Laptops - Custom Notebooks

Building an ASUS K55A-DH71 give me what i need and it puts it at 1200 i believe. I will keep looking to see if i can lower it a little.

is the Samsung 840 Pro Series Solid State Drive still one of the better SSD drives.

If i dont go with the SSD in the optical spot can i buy an ssd in the future and put it in there? Would i also have to buy a kit for it? I really dont know how they work.

Thanks bongo, I think that's the one I'm going to go for.

I also looked into doing the 2nd drive my self and it would be the same price so I will just have them do it.
