windows explorer not creating new items

    hello,
when i create a new object in any folder (eg adding a new folder) it does not appear at first. When i go to a different folder and then back to the new folder location, the object then appears. when i change the text of the new object again it does not change, it is still "new folder" or the previous name. then if I go to a different folder and back to the location of the renamed folder it has been renamed.

is there a way to solve this problem?
it has to be a problem with windows or my hard drive

    thanks
    in advance :)

Hello Sam, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You could refresh (F5) the folder window instead to have it appear.

Sometimes restarting the computer or resetting folder views sorts this refresh issue.

    Hope this helps, :)

That's what hopefully restarting the computer or resetting folder views will do.

I have the same problem, and resetting folder views and rebooting doesn't help. Example - I can copy a list of files from one folder to another, and all of the files do not show up in the new folder until I select a different folder, and then select the copy-to folder again. It used to always refresh fine, but now it doesn't. F5 does refresh, but why this inconsistency?

Yes. I posted the above with links for you to try to see if would start refreshing automatically again for you afterwards. :)

If not, then you could also try doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated when refresh was working properly to hopefully fix it.
