Download -what- from the flash drive?
We need more details, there are a lot of variables in an action or series of actions that can cause a crash.

Did it install fully, turn off your popup blocker, install flash player, turn it back on again.

Make sure you uncheck the McAfee or Chrome downloads that come with it or you will install those too.

Adobe Flashplayer is a necessary app and has never crashed IE for me.

Run sfc SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I turned off the pop up blocker, installed adobe flash player 11.5 and the Internet explorer stopped working. I deleted the flash player and IE is working normally now but no flash player.

    Try this:

    Download the current uninstaller

    Uninstaller for Windows
    http://download.macromedia.com/get/f...ash_player.exe

Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller Restart Windows Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)

    C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (if you are using a 64-bit system)
    %appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
    %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player

Verify that the files "FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl", "FlashPlayerApp.exe", and "FlashPlayerInstaller.exe" in C:\Windows\system32\ (for 32-bit systems) or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (if you are using a 64-bit system) have been deleted.

Note that you may not see the .exe suffix on FlashPlayerApp.exe and FlashPlayerInstaller.exe, depending on your Explorer settings.
