The disk needed for repair or reinstall of your version is in Step 5 along with tool to write it to flash stick or DVD.

As suggested you may be able to do some repairs from the built-in System Recovery Options but you need the disk anyway so why not splurge the pound to buy a few.

CD's or DVD's are available for $2 for 5 on the rack near the camera dept at Walgreens.

Problem is, I only have my laptop here. I'm at home but I don't have access to another computer.

Windows 7

I tried to put it onto the next line, though, it wouldn't allow me. So I just wrote it where I could, which is on the same line as the X:\sources\recovery\tools>
I pressed enter, but afterwards it comes up as "the file amen directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"

I'd put an image to show you what I see, but I can't because I'm on a tablet and I don't have another computer available to screenshot it.

SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot is Step 7 in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start .

Access the Command Line using F8 System Recovery Options

First run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times

There are many steps you can try using F8 Repair console from the tutorial which includes everything possible.
