    I am seeing this strange pane and can't find anything to turn it off.Please provide a possible solution.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
    Go to View and uncheck the status bar listing you might need to press the Alt key because you're not showing the menu bar on the top with File/ View/....
    Or Organize/ Layout and check the menu bar listing.
