12gb is a lot of RAM. Test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ for 5-6 passes or overnight to stress it.

Run a few Startup Repairs to see if it finds anything to fix in the boot.

Try creating a new User Profile at Control Panel>User Accounts>Manage Another Account. See if the problem persists. If so try a Repair Install.

If it continues then its a hardware problem, possibly the Power Supply. Check/replace all cables, connections, try another PSU after running the Psu calculator - Windows 7 Forums.

We have hardware experts here who can help you more. Report back on all the above steps.

Boot into System Recovery Options via F8 to run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times, report back results.

Is this the Acer factory preinstall which no tech enthusiast would run or have you gotten the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 yet?

Hum Greg I was going to suggest a factory default but I guess the ISO install will leave out the bloat eh?
