no wireless and stretched screen after reinstall

So I have managed to reinstall windows 7 after my Dell laptop went a bit coo coo....

And everything seemed fine, but the screen seemed stretched.

I went into the Screen Resolution settings and I only have two options, neither seem to sort it out.

Then I tried to connect to the wireless Internet but it doesn't exist. Like, literally as if wireless isn't even supported. fn+F2 does nothing!

    Help? Anyone?

Try to get your wireless going first. Go into your Control Panel and see if the network is setup. When I did mine, I had to put the password in again before I could get my wifi going.

You haven't filled in your system spec in full so it's difficult to steer you in the right direction, but did you install all the latest required drivers for your vga(screen) and wireless network card ?

Dosn't sound like you have installed any Drivers.

To see what drivers need installing:

Click on the start button, then right click on "Computer", Then click on properties then click on device manager, (top left)
Anything with an explanation mark next to it, needs attention.

Let me know the Make and model of your laptop, I will locate the drivers for you.

PS: you may well need to download the Ethernet adaptor driver on another computer, then copy it to the laptop to install. So then you can get internet access, to install the other drivers direct to the Laptop.

Drivers as well as everything else are covered here to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you didn't follow these steps pretty closely I'd do it over so you get a perfect reinstall.

    Hi swilks,

Would like to know if you installed drivers after performing 'Windows re-install'. Please capture the current status of 'Device Drivers' from 'Device Manager'. You may use the following steps useful:
    - Click 'Start Icon' > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in 'Search Programs and Files' text-box > Tap 'Enter' > Capture and share details of all devices that have a 'yellow/exclamation/question mark' besides them > To capture details, you may right click the 'item', click 'Properties'

You may refer to the following 'web article' to find the suggested sequence of installing drivers in Dell computers: How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order | Dell

You may also want to refer to the 'web article' to find exact steps for installing drivers: Downloading and Installing drivers using the Dell Download Manager | Dell
    - 'Wireless drivers' are listed under 'Network Category' (Dell systems may be built with different wireless cards; please identify the wireless card installed in your computer from the 'Device Manager', as suggested above. This information will help you to locate and install the correct driver from the 'Dell Support Website').
    - If the 'Wireless' is detected and installed in 'Device Manager' ('Fn+F2' does not work), it is likely that the 'Quick-set utility' is not installed. You may install it from the 'Drivers & Download Section'; is listed under 'Applications'.
    - If the 'wireless adapter' is not detected in 'Device Manager' at all, it may not be enabled in the 'System BIOS'.

If the issue persists, please share the system's make/model of your laptop so that I may help you further.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings; would be glad to assist
