Hello pbyrond, and welcome to Seven Forums.

That's ok. It's a hidden folder. You can do the tutorial above that's related to your issue to clear and reset it. :)

I'm set to show hidden folders, but the particular shortcut I'm trying to delete is not in there.
It's a broken jump list link in the excel pinned documents list - can't unpin it and it's not in the recent folder either...

I guess I could try to delete everything in that folder but I don't really want to! Any other suggestion?

well I tried just deleting everything in the Recent folder and rebooting
but all the jump list items still show up I guess I was in the wrong place.

    I was here:
    C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent

    pbyrond,

If you like, you could use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to reset your Jump Lists with a .bat file. :)

    Found what really works

I investigated every suggestion, and none of them worked...but the suggestion to change registry values led me to the answer. The keys named in that comment have nothing to do with Firefox, but there's an entry among the Firefox keys that proved to be the problem. I deleted the entire entry (there were two or three, under different roots) that contains "taskbar" (sorry I don't recall the exact name--you'll have to run a search) and rebooted. Stuck Firefox icon on taskbar was gone.

Sorry--didn't specify OS: Windows 7 Home Premium.

Also, to follow up--I launched Firefox and pinned it to the taskbar again...everything works fine.
