Strange Freezing Problem, assistance needed...

The updates definately wont make it worse so give them a try!

Okay i'm installing the updates but I won't really know if they help until I reboot a couple times which I can't do right now because everything's working fine and I'm using it for schoolwork right now. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to try?

You should always have a Anti Virus programme installed.

Okay what anti-virus do you recommend, preferably a lightweight one. But your not implying the problem could be a virus right? Virus' usually make themselves very well known from my experience.

Nope. I was replying to your earlier post. Where you stated you dont like having Anti Virus programmes,

I'm sure other members on here have different recommendations of Anti Virus. I like using AVG, although, over recent versions. It seems to be getting heavier.

This is not XP and we don't go on hunches here. There are Best Practices for which we set the standard for Win7 here, and there are Bad Practices which we help avoid.

To solve the Worst Practices you were following install Microsoft Security Essentials,
then enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)
and run all Important And Optional Updates through reboots and completion. Keep Updates set to Automatic.

Most tech enthusiasts will not even run the corrupt factory pre-install with all of the bloatware lard and duplicate utilities that throttle Win7. They prefer to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 following the steps to get and keep a perfect install. At the minimum I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware to turn off all the schmutz that's freeloading on Win7 largely to spy on you all day long.

In addition go over these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to assure all's well and learn a lot about your install.

Did installing the updates resolve the issue?

In regards to anti virus software, I use Kaspersky and also Malwarebytes and scan my pc with both fully every week, without fail!
