    Windows 7 Ultimate x32: Can't Open Any Programs and Get a Wierd Error

    Hey guys, I'm a new member and I just joined today on a new PC and my laptop which is a Windows 7 Ultimate x32 one, had a problem. Here's how it goes:

    I was trying to uninstall BitTorrent, TornTV, and SweetIM and an Apple Product(It's not a Mac) and then suddenly, my uninstall load time froze and I keep clicking X but it won't close, and then all of my other programs stopped working. IE was closed and Mozilla was not responding too well(It doesn't show up when you clicked the icon), so I decided to shut down the PC but I click on the Start icon and nothing happened so I forced shut it down by pressing the Power Button.

    I opened it up and I thought everything is okay except my internet connection bar has a blue loading circle on it even though it says Internet Access. I clicked on Mozilla and after waiting for 3 minutes, nothing happened so I opened up IE, but it ended up just like Mozilla. I go to uninstall and attempted again to uninstall the BitTorrent and the other files but it becomes a Not Responding program so I closed it. I tried to System Restore but my Control Panel won't respond and keeps getting Not Responding message.

    A few minutes later, I received a message saying " Failed to update PVGN(I forgot) client", so I start up my PC with Safe Mode and Command Prompt and used System Restore back 2 days for the incident and when I clicked on the programs it still doesn't work. None of the programs work at all.

    Which program was uninstalling when the system froze? TornTV seems a likely candidate for causing problems, see the following articles;

    Well, the one I was uninstalling when it froze was an Apple product and I System Restored it back to 2 days before the incident, back where I didn't download anything on that day.

    You state, "when I clicked on the programs it still doesn't work." What programs? What happens when you click on a program that isn't responding; ie, no response, like a dead link?

    Run a full scan with Malwarebytes

    followed by SUPERAntiSpyware.com - Downloads

    then run SFC /SCANNOW Command

    Report back results.

    Well with Bit Torrent and all the little goodies that it can bring with it plus TornTV,
    SweetIM and Apple Products you computer is in bad shape. The key here is lack of safe computing. I doubt this mess can be cured completely without a clean install with the Windows 7 that matches the COA sticker on your computer.
