    In summary:

Nothing except Lenovo Factory Recovery should be in D. We need to see a screenshot of its contents to help you Delete anything else and then you must stop writing to it if you want Recovery to work when needed. Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

Once Recovery is cleaned out make your Recovery media to see if it still works and have a backup of the Factory Recovery. How do I recover my system using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery

If it won't generate Recovery media then it probably won't run, but you can try to queue it up from Win7 or from boot to test this following steps in tutorial above. If it won't run or boot then you can delete it as well as the OEM partition at the end of the HD which steps I gave you earlier.

If you are going to use Win7 backup, you must store it externally to an external or another HD, another PC on the network, or use another method such as https://www.sevenforums.com/backup-re...ml#post2269172. Only if the Recovery partition won't run will there be space there to make a partition to store your backup.
Ahhhh...another HD or externally. Well I don't have one hand(y) atm. Would have to go out and buy another HD first.

    She.

BTW I stayed in on my Saturday night to help you, concerned that you might have run into problems.
That can't be the only reason. Anyway, thanks. :)

If the Lenovo Recovery partition will not run to generate your Recovery Media, or queue up to run Recovery following the steps in the tutorial, then you can delete it to create a new Primary partition to save your backup there. Easiest is to save a Win7 backup image, then drag your active User folders as often as they need backup.

If you don't want to mess with that or you can afford an external HD or have another HD to install on the PC, then it's always best to save your backup image and files to external or another HD in case your OS HD fails.

I gave you another modern method to consider to back up to the cloud: https://www.sevenforums.com/backup-re...ml#post2269172

I think I'm just going to buy an external drive. Best way to backup my system. Will look into these steps though - slowly but surely :)

Which steps? There are dozens stretching back 8 hours that haven't been done yet. Just deal with the ones in Post #41. It sums up what needs to be done.
