Formatted drive successfully, and no, my hdd did NOT explode, lol.

These are the commands I used if anyone's going through a similar scenario:

    diskpart>
    clean
    create partition primary size=300000
    format fs=ntfs label="Media"
    assign letter=d
    create partition primary size=165000
    format fs=ntfs label="System"
    assign letter=c
    exit

Seems ok. Although, because I did my window's partition second, does this mean my os will run slower because it's on the outer edge of the disk, ie, reader has to travel further to read/write information? Or is this effect inconsequential to the running of my system? Hhhmmm, just a thought anyways. But thanks anyway for everyone who helped me out - I'm most grateful.

    Cheers,

    Marty.

    Hello Marty,

    Glad you got it formatted.

It's generally accepted that an OS will run better if it's in the first partition on the Disk. It will run from the second partition on the outside of the disk.
If you haven't installed the OS yet, this would be a good time to adjust the size of the partitions and put the OS on the first, inside Partition. Won't take very long.

Let us know how everything is going.

I'm am curious...why did you want to do a full format instead of a quick format?
