    DDR3 or DDR4


    Hello guys!
    For a few months i am trying to chose a new laptop t o replace my old one!
    I was stuck between the Asus N56vz(£800 )

    • Laptop Model – ASUS N56VZ-S4242
    • Processor – 3nd Generation Intel Core i7-3610QM, Ivy Bridge
    • CPU Speed – 2.3GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz), 6MB Cache
    • Screen Size – 15.6 inch
    • Display – 1920 x 1080 Full HD, LED Backlit
    • Memory – 8GB RAM
    • Graphics – Discrete NVIDIA GT650M GPU with 2GB Memory and NVIDIA Optimus Technology
    • Hard Drive – 1TB
    • Bang & Olufsen Ice Power Audio System
    • Connectivity – USB3.0 x4, HDMI x1, VGA x1, Ethernet x1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n x1, Bluetooth 4.0 x1, Multi Card Reader x1

    or the Asus Zenbook U500vz!(£1250)

    Now the idea is that the n56vz i can't find it anymore...the u500vz is a bit pricy...and the most importent thing..DDR4 is on the way!So should i wait for the ddr4 or should i buy one of the laptops!I am mainly using photo editing software such as CS6 and with loads of plugins!
    Any advices and recommendations are more than welcomed!

    They are Both DDR3 and the Bottom one the more Expensive has a SSD but they both do about the same

    Just the one with 1tb will just be slower but ultimatly perform the same but if you want to be snappy and on the move the choice would be the 1200 dollar one or you can get the 800 dollar one and replace the 1TB HD for a SSD and use the one TB as a back up and put it in a enclosure

    but at that point the cost would be around the same but if you have the money get the 512gb SSD and buy a back up Drive and your set

    Thank you for your suggestions Solarstarshines
    I have already an ssd Crucial m4 256gb on my current laptop...i was thinking with the Zenbook that is a lot more portable and the IPS display will help me a bit with the post production on the photos!But is it worth getting it or wait for the ddr4 rams...witch most likely the will have the new intel Haswell?

    I don't think you will really gain any performance form haswell I have seen post people aren't too sure about it's purpose

    DDR4 I would wait a while after it has been out I don't see alot of people transitioning to that kind of ram right away

    I would get what would work best for me at the time because you might get stuck with a Laptop with the features you want but wil be stuck with Windows 8 if you don't care about windows 8 then you might be primed to wait and see what unfolds but I wouldn't h old my breath

    I think you should pick something that takes care of your real needs just because it's new doesn't mean it's always better just my 2 cents

    That is a really good point!I would see a major increase jumping from intel dual core and 512 amd graphics(what i have now) to i7 quad core ivy and 2 gb of gt650m ddr3 ?
    i was looking for more detailes about the Zenbook...and apparently this UK model has 2 SSD 128gb in RAID 0...and they can not be replaced! That is a bad point from my point of view as it would be nice to have and ssd for OS and softwares and 500 HDD for storage!
