changing the permissions for an entire drive of media

I have a 1.5 tb drive filled with media that i used with linux for a few years. The drive itself is ntfs, but again i used it in a linux based system for xbmc for awhile. I recently moved back to windows and a large number of the files on the drive say i don't have permissions to them and wont let me access them. First it just says I don't have permission would i like to continue and change the permission, but upon selecting continue it says i have been denied permission and need to use the security tab to fix it. Of about 500 files maybe a third on the drive are doing this, is there a way to change the ownership of the drive and everything on it completely so i don't have any access problems?

    Hello Jonass,

You might see if using the "Take Ownership" context menu from the tutorial below on the drive may help make doing this faster. It also grants all administrators "full control" permission.

    Hope this helps, :)
