Windows 7: possible to go "back" to search window?

possible to go "back" to search window?

when I use open search -> go to chosen item, is it possible to get back to the search location without using the red x to close the window, then have to reopen search and retype in the search box?

seems like it would be nice to get "back" to the search using a back arrow instead of going through the whole cycle again manually. or is there a way to do that?

64-bit Windows 10 Pro

Hello Msongs,

Not sure if this is the same location you mean, but when I do a search in the Windows Explorer search line at the top and click on one of the search results to go to that location, I can then click on the back arrow to go back to the search results before without having to retype for the search.

Are you talking about searching on the Start Menu or in Window Explorer?

On the start menu, sorry, I don't know of any way.

If you do the search from within Explorer you can use the back arrow at the top left of the explorer window. You can also save a search for later use. Click the save search button on the menu bar, give it a name and it will appear in the favorites section of the navigation pane.

Hope this helps.

Edit:Sorry Shawn, your too fast for me.

How can I make it such that in Search Results, when I open a folder in a new window (by right-clicking a file), I will be directed to a window with the "full path" displayed in the address bar, instead of Search Results\"Path" or Search Results>"Path"? Edit: "Right-click -> open file location"...
