OK, we need to see what user privileges you have.

    clickstart>computer>local disk C>users>right click your user name>properties>security

then click your name and see what permissions you have
    Problem solved

Shawn, does this issue come from the fact that maybe Jadinolf didn`t install the app originally, and that`s why he had to take ownership of the folder ?

I`m still curious as to what your permissions are.

But it looks like you have system highlighted there, not your user name.

And what is account unknown ?

I'm sorry but I have never even seen that graphic before.

No idea what account unknown is.

My name is there. I don't have a user name.

The important thing is the fact the folders are gone.

If that doesn't work, then you could also give the free program Unlocker a try to delete it with.
    Done! Take Ownership did it.

    Thanks all. Most appreciated.
Great news. Glad we could help. :)

    Hey Brian,

That would be my thoughts as well.

The "unknown user" would most likely be a deleted user account. Probably the one that originally installed the program, and could be why only System had access now that user account is no longer there.

For the record, guys, no one else has ever installed anything on this computer.

    I'm the man!

    Thanks all.

    Anytime Joseph. :)

"Unknown user" could be from a deleted user account, a user account from another computer that is not currently connected, etc.....

Basically previously accessed or owned by another user account that is no longer available for whatever reason.
