restoring an imaged dynamic disk partition to a basic disk?

    I didn't realize desktop.ini file attributes would be such a serious problem that it would require a fresh install to correct

    Anyway, I'll just have to figure out a way to deal with it I guess

    I'm still curious about the drive icon though, if there's no solution for that too, it would be nice to know what would cause it to happen

    BTW, when I mentioned in my second post that I did it and it works, I didnt mean converting windows from dynamic to basic, I meant that I did what I mentioned in my original post ( image windows, complete hdd format and make basic, and restore )

    well I took care of the .ini problem with an att changer.... don't know why I didn't search for one in the beginning!
