    Have I lost My RAID?

    Hey Guys,

I have just done a thoughtless thing. I have two pc's. One is my main for hard work such as music production and gaming. The other is networked to that one as a media pc.

I wanted to switch motherboards over. One is a Nvidia EvGA 680i with the raid and the other same but a 780i. The 780i is newer and has PCI-E2 and so wanted to swap because of a graphics card upgrade.

I forgot about the raid. If I build a raid on the origiinal motherboard albeit different memory and processor will I be able to recover the data on the raid?

    Thanks in advance

So I have loaded the three hard drives into the old motherboard and if I have raid switched off in the bios windows sees all the drives. As soon as I switch the raid on (set correctly) when it goes into post the raid flashes because there is errors. F10 into raid and enter only two of the three drives are showing. I can't understand why because as I stated earlier without raid on they show in post and computer management within windows.

No one come across this before?

I have updated my post here and attached screenshot because this drive is showing in post and device manager but just will not show in the bios where the stripe RAID is set. You can see the highlighted drive that will not show in the bios.

3 drives in stripe RAID. I have tried every combination to make it work again. They are all Seagate Barracuda drives at 2 TB each. Two drives are labelled same ST32000641AS & other ST32000542AS. The later will show in the post but not in RAID in Bios. If I switch off RAID in Bios and boot to windows the two drives show but the 542AS drive does not in computer management but does in Device manager. If I disconnect all drives and initiate RAID it will want to configure this drive into RAID.

When I switched it to another computer the operating system drive was different to this. That was a Momentus XT hybrid running Windows 7 ultimate X64 and the original RAID system is Windows 8 X64.

Do you think that when I switched to another computer it corrupted the master boot record and that is why the drive is not showing?

I have run out of ideas so if you guys know of anyway I can recover this drive I will be eternally grateful.
