Replace SSD
I have Windows 64 Bit installed on an SSD Drive. I am running out of Disk space. I have heard that I can make a Image of my existing SSD and import into a new SSD. How do I do this?

Go into control panel>backup and restore and save a disk image to your internal hard drive or an external hard drive. replace the ssd, then just use your windows install disc to put the image back on the new ssd. It`s that easy.

System Image Recovery
Other favored programs with more options include Macrium - Image your system and the premium Acronis imaging/cloning apps which come free with any WD or Seagate HD in the mix. You can also link your files to another HD without much performance loss, using Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums or User Folders - Change Default Location. The only hitch with the last method is that it will make the data partition/drive a System drive and force it to be included in Windows Image backup. |
