Popups that ask me to save on every program

    Hi there,

Every program I use in Windows 7 will show a popup that asks me to save every minute of the programs use. It annoys me very much

How can I fix this problem? I need to get it fixed fast. Sorry if I am sounding like I am demanding an answer but would love to get a solution fast.

Can you provide an screen shot of your desktop when this happens? Use the Snipping tool to capture the screen then the paper clip to the right of the Smilies to upload and insert in a post here.

    Hey,

Thanks for replying. But I have seemed to fix it by going to processes in the Task Manager and getting rid of a process called "Autosaver.exe". I rarely go there because I would be afraid of something messing up but it worked :)

That only stops it this boot. You need to uninstall it or disable it permanently.

Press Windows key (next to the left Ctrl key) and the R key together to open the Run box.
    Type msconfig and press Enter.
    Click on the Startup tab.

Look for Autosaver there and disable it.

Better yet would be to uninstall it from Control Panel, Programs and Features.

    Hi there (again),

Thank you very much for correcting me. I have tried your procedure and do not see the file called "autosaver.exe" that was causing this error. And I could still not find it in Control Panel-Programs.

Again, thank you very much for replying back.

Okay, reboot then open Task Manager. Right click on autosaver.exe and select Open File Location. What is that full path? That may tell us what program it belongs to and with that info you should be able to find it in msconfig.

Post the full path here too please.

    Hi there,

Thanks again for following up. But for some reason, I could not find the "autosaver.exe" file in the Task Manager after a reboot. In fact, I did a whole system search for it and could not be found.

At least I'm not getting the popup boxes anymore.
