    Win 7 Starter, unexpected reboots, very quick after startup


    Hi,
    I have no idea what is going wrong.
    The model is an Acer Aspire One netbook (10.1 D270).

    After a few minutes, it just reboots. This happened recently.

    How can I diagnose the problem?

    I can see nothing strange in eventvwr.

    I would like to try some diagnosis before I try the shotgun trial-and-error approach (system restore, reinstall windows, change hardware).

    memory diagnostic and disk checking (the tools that run with a restart) returned no errors.

    Any suggestions?

    I understand that I haven't provided much info, but I'm not sure what to provide.

    There is no BSOD.

    I don't believe a minidump is created either.

    Temperature is within expected bounds (no higher than 45)

    Also happens in safe mode.

    Also, the RAM is not original, I'll try replacing the original chip.

    If it turns out to be the RAM, what tool/s should I use to verify its integrity?
    Also, there is no CD drive. So I need a USB boot utility if anything but the standard windows test (which I ran only with default settings).

    Hello Silmeria .... though it is not a BSOD, still I'd suggest you to post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions. The files obtained this way will help us to have a closer look to the issue.

    Is this still the corrupt Acer preinstalled Win7? If so I'd do what other tech enthusiasts do and Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to get rid of the bloatware which throttles and interferes with Win7 native performance.

    In your case I'd make my Recovery disks first so you can wipe the HD of all boot code using Diskpart Clean Command
