I want to make partition for the attached image of disk management, I tried to make partition but it gives error.pls guide.
I tried both options. In the latter one after clicking finish some sort of dynamic disk error prompts and when i click it yes then it says windows was unable to do it.But when I click no then nothing happens.
In 2nd one cmd method , when I type list disk and press enter then only one partition is shown with 0B of free space when I select that and create partition primary then it prompts No usable free extent could be found and only logical drives may be created.
Now what should I do?
InformationMBR disks supports up to 4 Primary partitions or 3 Primary partitions and 1 Extended partition with up to 128 logical volumes in the extended partition.
Convert the file format to GPT and then you shall be able to create more than 4 partitions.
Tutorial here: Convert MBR Disk to GPT Disk
In a physical disc, you cannot have more than four primary partitions. One extended logical volume (how much logical partitions it may contain) is treated as one primary partition. If you try, it will be converted to a dynamic one, and a dynamic disc cannot be booted from.
What you have to do here, first convert C as logical partition. Dont worry, converting C to logical will not harm anything. C drive dont contain the bootloader, so it is not a must to be a primary partition.
- Download Partition wizard bootable CD ...
- Burn it in a blank disc and boot into it following the instructions.
- Then convert C into logical, following the method How to set partition as Logical with partition manager? Partition Wizard help.
- Now, make a new partition in the unallocated space, following http://www.partitionwizard.com/help/create-partition.html ; but, DONT FORGET TO CREATE IT IA LOGICAL.

The steps Arc gave you above will solve your problem while keeping the HP Recovery and OEM Diagnostics tool bootable.
If you still have the HP preinstalled Win7 with all of the smothering factory bloatware and duplicate utilities that have better versions built into Win7, you should also consider doing what most tech enthusiasts do and Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.
At the minimum to help recover Win7's native performance I would Clean Up Factory Bloatware
Arc,
I got an error when I tried to get to the create a partion help in PartWiz from your post.

I think you have a ";" at the end of the link that causes the trouble. Sooo - i pasted the link that worked for me above.
