Win 7 Sleep/Wake Problem - Any News?

Hey all - has there been any encouraging news for the sleep/wake problems that have been plaguing so many? I've read unconfirmed rumors that MS is aware of the problems 7 has resuming from sleep (particularly on desktops) and is working on a fix. Like the others, I've bent over backwards updating drivers, changing BIOS settings, and clicking every possible power option in Win 7's control panel, to no avail.

It's nice that my computer goes to sleep, but my display never returns despite my hard drive, fan, etc. coming back to life. I hope that a viable workaround is possible until MS addresses the issue.

Aside from this issue, there is no doubt that 7 is their best offering to-date. If I have to abandon power management altogether, so be it. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though.
