When you leave About:config are you (okaying) (save changes)out. The settings you changed should of stayed set.

    Have you used About:config before?

The Speccy snapshot provides detailed information about hardware & drivers, and software, as well s configuration information, plus some diagnostic information (temp & S.M.A.R.T). Your System specs tell us the basic machine information.

Often there is a conflicting application or one might be out-of-date or there might be a configuration conflict. How does this pertain to the issue you're trying to solve. There might not be anything in the report that helps.
I won't know until I have more information.

Yes, when I exit the config settings are saved, but upon a restart of firefox the settings remain changed, but the issue of the context menus appearing transparent reappears.

Elwood, would you please provide the speccy snapshot so we may help you further? Also, did you ever do anything in terms of your video driver, just so we know?

I have looked around the internet, as I said I would, and I have found threads were people detail the same issue in versions 4.0 and later. Many solutions have been proposed, none seems to work for everyone. To determine the exact cause of your issue we need all information possible.

Just doing it now, and updating my drivers again to be sure they are correct, but it didn't seem to work the last time.

EDIT: Note, updating drivers appeared to work at first, then upon a restart the issue reoccurred.

Okay, so after a bit of random destruction, I have realised another temporary fix. During the graphics driver updates, my resolution was changed during the install. This fixed it. Upon a restart it was broken again.

If I manually change the resolution lower, then back to my 1080x1280 display, the issue stops occurring. But on restarting firefox, it will happen again.

Not sure if my info helps or hurts: I updated my Pale Moon x64 (Firefox--gecko based) browser to 19.0 today. My browser context menu sometimes show up and sometimes is there but invisible, no outline. That is, I'll get a dialogue box if I rt-click on the invisible menu. The OS context menu's appear to be working normally.

That is similar to what I am seeing, including the right clicking inside the invisible menu bringing up a right click context menu.

However I had been seeing this issue on the previous build of firefox, I am almost certain, so I'm still thinking it might relate to my computer somehow.

At any rate, thank you for the message, it reassures me it might not be my pc alone! :)

I don't have enough to fully look over your speccy post this morning but I do see that you have AVG 2013 installed. I do know that AVG can cause some performance issues and isn't regarded as very reliable around here. I recommend replacing is with either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast.
