Explorer: Where Are the File Extensions?
In Windows Explorer, (I think it's Explorer. I'm writing about the folder and file list accessed by Windows Key-E.) how do I see the file extensions on the files? There is a column for Type (of file), and it is descriptive; but I want to see the actual 3 character extension.

file extensions I changed folder options to view files extensions. I then tried to change the file extensions on a couple of files and every time I tried to change an extension to a different type (i.e. *.htlm to *.rar) the explorer window freezes and shows not responding. Has anyone else had this problem? |
