Software that finds files / folders added today??

I believe that something was added to my computer by a website and I am wondering if any pne knows of any software that will identify files or folders that were created today i.e., the day the software was run.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

    Hi theaudioanalyst,

'Windows' offers a feature to search for a 'file/folder' that may have been created/modified on any specific date. You may try using it to see if that helps.

Please follow the steps listed below:
    - Open 'Windows File Explorer'
    - Select the 'location' on 'Hard Drive' where 'search' is required
    - In the 'search box', in the top right corner of the window type 'datemodified:' (without quotations)

    - 'Select a date or date range' window appears; select the 'date or date range' for today (or any desired date)
    - Based on 'date range' the 'Search' may take a while to produce results

Hope you find the information useful.

FileLocator Lite can do that (FileLocator Lite - Free File Searching Utility). It contains a "dates" tab where you can specify search criteria based on creation or modification time, possibly filtering by files created "today". It's free, but also have a paid version. The free one has pretty much everything I use and can possibly imagine.

Windows 7 using Windows Explorer Search will work just fine and it came with Windows 7 when you installed Windows 7. Give Saurabh A instruction a try and let us know how it works for you.

    Hi theaudioanalyst,

Glad that you found the 'search feature' in 'Windows File Explorer' useful; thank you for confirming. It looks comprehensive and highly effective in its impact with use of operators, search filters and keywords.

theaudioanalyst is happy, we are happy. Please remember that Windows 7 has many built in features that do work quiet well. Therefor no need for 3rd party programs to do those projects. If in doubt just ask. Windows 7 Forum is open 24/7.
