Copy Win 7 disk to HDD?

Long ago I used to partition my HDD and copy the Windows disk to the partition. Then I'd install Windows from the HDD. Can I still do that with the Win 7 disk?

Why would you want to do that if you have the disc ?

Be better to put a disk image on the partition.

Never mind. Just found out I can't make a boot disk with Win 7. I used to do that because the HDD is faster installing Windows and it's there when needed.

Cool but it used to be lot simpler with old Windows. I guess when they removed DOS the days are over. :)

Oh well, I'll just use the disk.
