Hi all, just come back from my honymoon, overseas and i now have a problem i can't locate.
My mouse keeps freezing, only for a few seconds at a time (very annoying).
I can't go back to an earlier date by system restore as the earliest point is after i came back..
I have uninstalled mouse via device manager amd problem still persists.
Any help would be apprieciated

How does it behave if you boot to Safe Mode with Networking? If better then something is starting at boot that is causing the problem.

Use msconfig to determine what is causing the problem
These are good tutorials on using msconfig in XP, Vista or Windows 7:

How to use msconfig in Windows 7
Click on Start then Run, type msconfig and press Enter.
Click on the Startup tab, record what is currently starting then click the Disable All button.
Reboot and see if it runs better.
If yes then use msconfig to enable several items at a time till you find the culprit.
If no, start msconfig and click on the Services tab.
Check the Hide All Microsoft Services box, record what is currently starting then click the Disable All button.
Again, do a regular boot, see if it runs normal.
If yes then use msconfig to enable services till you find the culprit.
Once you've found the culprit, uninstall it or find out how to eliminate it from your system. Simply disabling it in msconfig is a temporary fix at best.
Enable everything else you disabled.
is it a cordless mouse if so have you tryed replacing the batteries?

no, not a cordless mouse..do not like them much.
just trying another mouse in the pc...running win 7 pro...

With all the people experiencing this same problem, I think it's a Windows 7 problem, not the mouse's. Why should I have to go through all that msconfig bullshit to find the cure to a Microsoft problem?? If you google Mouse Freezes with windows 7, you get a lot of people with the same problem!
I'm not talking about just him, I've had this same problem for quite awhile and lived with it. I just thought I'd do a search to see if anyone had a similar problem....................There are alot of people with the same problem, so I think it's time Microsoft looked into it seriously!
I had same issue. Found a thread somewhere that suggested a change in power set up in Win. to highest possible. Found that screen and did that. So far it works fine. Been 3 days now

I don't mean to resurrect a dead thread (others did too :P ) but i've read any number of issues and solutions to this stuff. I have the same problem on this PC, but testing the mouse on another PC (laptop) was fine. Both are running Win7x64.
I've found solutions as simple as "disable enhanced pointer precision" to the keyboard (G15) is to blame to MSCONFIG stuff to MS drivers being the problem and so on. I'll see what solves the issue for me...
Some people want to blame Windows 7 for everything. Seldom do two different system have the same solution to a problem.
