What programs show launched programs on bootup?

    amongst other things, it lets you view the list of programs running at Windows startup. you can also disable or permanently remove unneeded entries.

    just start typing 'windows defender' in the start-menu search box to run it...
    Does Defender still do that - can't see it on mine

    MSN Messenger kept launching even thought it was disabled in msconfig but I've noticed that cccleaner has an program startup option too.

    Some apps. have a nasty habit of reinserting themselves in startup.

    Worth opening the app. itsef and check under Options or Settings - it might say load at windows startup or similar.

    my bad, you're right SIW2 - defender is one of the first things i always disable, so i never really looked at it - i was just convinced it had some sort of startup manager, maybe i was thinking about vista...
