Disable Windows double click = full screen window?

Hi,

Forgive me if my searches weren't up to speed to find the answer to this... I tried, I really did.

I just had to get a new system and it has Windows 7 Pro - X64. Now it seems like a double click in a window header bar, all windows, end up with a full screen window. Driving me nuts! (short trip )

I've searched all over and can only find the doc. on disabling the full screen snap when moving a window off screen or to the top.

Any idea how to disable the bar-double click behavior?

Double-clicking the title bar to maximize a window has been a behavior since at least Windows 95. I think it cannot be disabled. You may need to change your approach.

hm.... ok - I was on XP Pro for the last *ton* of years and don't recall that behavior... sorry

I've been using double-click to maximize Windows since at least Windows 98. I used it in Windows XP as well.

ok - thanks - not doubting you at all. I possibly had the double click speed set a bit lower on my old system so it wasn't as touchy.

Oh, that might be a good alternative solution.

Did some checking, I agree with everyone, I went to Microsoft help forum, This option cannot be changed. This option has been like this since Windows 95 according to some. Again, Just hange your approach.

yeah, all of the searches I did said it couldn't be changed. But having been a software engineer/tester for 38 years, I don't necessarily believe that someone, somewhere couldn't come up with a sneaky solution. ;-)

I checked the speed setting for the double click and it was cranked all the way up so it was being VERY touchy. Just toned that down a bit and no problem now.
