    Missing Icons in Folders

    Hello,

I have been having troubles with missing icons on a lot of the files I select. I have attached a screenshot of what I am seeing. This is only for one part, but this is happening on many files, not just an .exe, I have also notice it happening on a .bat and other files.

I have used the merge suggestions on this forum and also rebuild. But this has not worked.

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1.

Your help on resolving this issue is grateful. Thanks.

    Hi Bongo,

I have done this and restarted the PC. However it has not fixed the issue at hand. Not really sure what else to try with this now.

I don't see what is wrong when I look at the image you posted. Executables seem to have valid icons. What is missing, or what am I missing?

Look at the image I posted and the icon in the red circle. I have missing icons like this in many folders.

I am surprised that that did not repair it it has worked many times for others.
Try these two things and then try the above fix again.

Do Option 2 of this tutorial SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have. You may need to do this up to 3 times with a reboot between each scan.

    Then
    Icon Cache - Rebuild
