    default view in windows explorer

I recently was mucking around with settings in windows explorer, and now for some reason when i open a window the default proportions are really strange (see screenshot). How do I restore regular proportions?

    Hello Asliuf,

You have the preview pane turned on, and had dragged it's left border far to the right.

You could either turn off the preview pane, or drag it's left border to the right more to fix this.
    Hope this helps, :)

    thanks,
I know I can drag the pane over too the left, I'm looking to change the default so I don't have to do that every time i open a new window.

The preview pane width size is a universal setting in all folders and libraries.

By default, when you open a folder in Windows Explorer, the preview pane should be the same width as it was in the last folder window you closed.

If you meant the default folder views, then you can use the tutorial below to set a default for all folders.
