Transferring Movie From PC To USB Memory Stick problem

    Hi,

Can't understand what is happening here.

I just bought from Amazon a brand new USB Memory Stick; a Sandisk; 32 GB.

I have a movie that I took that is on my PC (running W7) that I want to transfer to the Sandisk.
The movie is about 7 GB in size, so it "should" fit just fine, I would think.

Every way I have tried to get it to the SanDisk results in an error msg. that says:

The file 'My Movie-From Memory Card as of 3-2013' is too large for the

    destination file system.

Don't understand why I can't transfer this 7 GB movie file into a 32 GB Sandisk.
Something in the file name syntax, or...?
Movie Format ? Unlikely, I think, as the error msg. says "size" as being the problem.

The Sandisk, I think, seems to be fine as I did transfer some much smaller files into it without any problem.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Robert11, the reason you can't transfer the 7 gig file is that the usb stick is not formatted for ntfs. There is a 2gig limit on any file on a fat32 formatted usb stick.
Format the drive as ntfs and it should work fine.

    I'm not Rich,

    But one way:

Open "Computer". Right click on the USB drive. Select "format". FAT32 should be the default; choose NTFS.

A quick format is good enough.

    From OP:

    Hello,

What should I select for any of the options ?

    e.g., Allocaltions, etc. ?

    Thanks,

leave them to default, no need to mess with them. Leave everything else at default for optimal performance and storage consumption.
