Taskbar does not keep mp3 icon

I can't seem to get my mp3 player icon to show up in the taskbar after I plug it in. I have to go to the computer menu to click on it to show contents. I would like it in the taskbar after it is plugged in. Pls advise. Tks very much.

i dont think it will as it is acting as a drive, drives only show on the " computer" window.

however you could try clicking devices and printers in the start menu and see if it shows there.
if it does then right click it and create a shortcut.
you may be able to pin the shortcut to the taskbar.

When you plug in your MP3 player the autoplay window should pop up ( if enabled ) along with Installing drivers inside the sys tray .then you should see an icon inside Computer . You won't see an icon on the taskbar .

Thanks to all for thoughts. The icon for the mp3 player loads onto the taskbar when plugged in on my Dell - always. The Compaq laptop is where it does not show up when plugged in. With regard to autoplay, that would be fine if I can't get other suggestions to work - not sure where to find that setting for autoplay. Thanks again.

It is a Sansa Clip 4GB. It's possible I have the software on one and not the other. Will check that and get back to you. Right now on the Dell not the Compaq. Also, did find my way to the autoplay function menu. All is set to "open device stage". Thanks again.
