internet explorer7 connection problem

Please help. I am unable to connect to the internet using Internet Explorer 7. I have downloaded it again from the Microsoft website, but still it tries to connect and goes blank. This is the message that I get-- AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.17123 ModName: ldrtbcou0.dll
ModVer: 6.11.2.6 Offset: 000016f9

If you have any suggestions to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

My suggestion would be to use another web browser or computer to download IE8:
Download Windows Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP from Official Microsoft Download Center

Is there a reason why you need IE7 on XP?

I have to access the web using internet explorer in order to get to a secure website. I tried accessing the website with Firefox but was unable to do so. I was informed that only internet explorer 6, 7, or 8 will allow me to view information from this specific site.

Use Firefox to download IE 8, not to use as your normal browser. See if IE8 works.

Well, if that's the restriction, you must download and install IE8.

Thanks.
