Hi Xeal Clianad and welcome to Seven Forums
I think you will find Home Basic does not allow you to change the colour schemes of the Windows. That is one of the limitations of Home Basic.
You can change the wallpaper. Change your desktop background You can pick different built in options by searching in the start menu for Change the color scheme but you cannot change them to different colours or themes.
I looked at your first image attachment. That is what I meant, and when I tried to find it, it wasn't there.
Type exactly what I typed in the first attachment and it will come up. It is hidden and that is the only way to get it to come up in home basic.

    Good news, and bad news:

Good news: I did what you did and I saw it on the Start Menu.

    Bad news: Nothing's happening.

When you see it on the start menu you then have to click on the text to get the window to open.

    Yeah.

P.S.: My laptop got a nasty malware once. It made my laptop go crazy. I don't know if this is helping but... anyway.

OK well it seems to work in my Home Basic virtual machine. It is fully updated with SP1. Is there anything else that does not work on your laptop? Maybe you need to run a malware scan.
Download Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

Do not sign up for the Pro trial. Post back with the results and we will get a malware guy to take a look if there are problems.

Hi Xeal, I would allow those detections to be removed. Adware.Hotbar.RB is some type of malware and may be difficult to remove.
