Question about other users still on when logging off.

When i try to shut down my user account i get a pop up that says other users are still using the computer and they will lose data if i shut down . I know there are no other users, any ideas

    Thanks

Do you mean when you try to shut down the computer?

If so, open Task-Manager and look under the Users tab to see what users are currently logged in.

    Hello Herb,

Before shutting down, double check in Task Manager like below to see if shows other users logged in.

I think my Task Manager isn't right for some reason, i looked at users and i am the only user listed but when i looked at the applications tab" Chrome" was taking up most of the space.

Edit: My mistake, all the Chrome listings are on the processes lines , the only thing that is listed in applications is Avast anti virus , two lines are filled with ( general discussions win 7 forums) which is obviously this and one line is filled with (question about other users still on when logging off ) that's everything in my application window, a total of 4 things. Hopefully that's normal

Are you closing everything before shutting down?

Don't worry about it, or feel that way.

It may or may not be the cause, but most likely is if a program is hanging at shut down.

Double check to make sure everything opened and showing on the taskbar is closed before shutting down, and let us know how it went. :)
