Preview Icons in a folder containing photographs -

    Hi All.

Probably the most noddy question you will ever get from a first time poster.

In Windows Explorer, the icon for an image file used to be a minuature of the image in the file. At some point in the past I did View > Details to change the view to give me details of the files.

Now I want to change it back so that the icons are back to being minuatures of the image file again, but none of the View options available to me do that. The options I have are - Extra Large Icons, Large Icons, Medium Icons, Small Icons, List, Details, Tiles, Content.

I know in Windows Explorer in XP there is a Thumbnails option. But not in Win7.

Please do tell me what I have done wrong, and what I can do to rectify.

    TIA

Already tried that and just get the same generic landscape type image for every icon.

Does it do the same thing for all of the different View settings?

No, each View setting is different, and does what you would expect it to do.

It's the absence of a Thumbnail setting that seems to be my problem.

In windows 7 there is no thumbnails view, large Icons or medium icons, even content should show you the thumbnail of the photo. PLease open the start menu and at the search bar at the bottom type "Folder Options" without the quotes. Check and make sure that the box highlighted is NOT checked, if it is uncheck it.
