Windows 7: How do I know if my computer turned itself on or if a person did?

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Here's what you should do. Go to Control Panel>User Accounts. Then set a password for your account.

Then go to Control Panel>Power Options>Change Plan Settings>Change Advanced Power Settings
Expand the top two options, and then set Require a password on wakeup to yes.

Turned off computer during SP1 update..
It was in the starting windows page and it said 60,000 files of 350,000 or something like that.. then after a while the monitor didn't show anything and moving my mouse/pressing keyboard did nothing so I simply turned off the computer guessing it was finished.
