Without knowing the contents of the folder you probably have a self referencing junction that points to its parent thus it loops around back though the junction in an infinite loop.

As I have mentioned, when I click on properties, the results vary. I just posted a couple of samples of what comes out. I know what the folders contain and I am sure that it does not amount to 10.4 gb. I asked for assistance because the free space on the partition suddenly became 20gb instead of about 30gb. A loss of 10gb without even adding anything to it is what is bothering me. It does not give me a consistent report on the size and contents. I know that the contents of this folder does not exceed 1gb since I only store drivers, and basic program installers, and basic applications installers like uTorrent, Java, Adobe reader and other small programs. I keep my folders very organized, so this is really puzzling as to how it suddenly jumps to 10.4 gb all the time with varied results on the number of folders and files. It is really hard to explain it unless you experience it yourselves. Anyway, thanks for the help. I am going to figure this one out myself.

Unless we are sitting at your computer...we can only speculate. At least at the moment, my crystal ball has yet to arrive in the mail.

One more thing i noticed is that it also happens in a folder where I keep pictures. It also reports that it is 10.4gb. This is the one that reports 9000+ files and 187 folders when in fact I only have about 600 files in 37 folders. This problem only occurs on the E: partition and does not occur elsewhere on the PC. So if it is a junction stuck in an infinite loop, then how to I correct it?

So, well, here's why I asked to repost a screeny. I was damn sure it wouldn't be same the Programs folder. You explained things in such a way as if it was the same folder that showed first 200+ items then suddenly jumped to 9000+! They are different folders after all.

    As instructed earlier, use windirstat.

Here's an interesting question - does the issue reproduce if you boot into safe mode?
