    Windows cannot find %windir%

    Hi!

    I'm distraught. I have a problem and I can't resolve it. ;( It's computer in a firm and I can't reinstall Windows.

    When I type in cmd: echo %path% -> the answer is: %path%.

    When I try check environmment variables (in Advanced System Settings) I have an error "Windows cannot find '%windir%\system32\systempropertiesadvances.exe'. Make sure you typed name correctly, and the try again."

    When I go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe, I have:

    Path -> %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowe rShell\v1.0\

    windir -> %SystemRoot%

    I beg You, please help me. It's very important.

    P.S. Sorry for my English.

    Best regards

    Hello Pawell, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    See if using this below for windir instead may work better.

    windir -> C:\Windows

    Windows cannot find %windir%-windir.jpg Windows cannot find %windir%-windir-2.jpg

    Hope this helps, :)

    I found someones problem the same as yours

    "I was able to enter the default environments back in to the system variable path while running under safe mode"

    EDIT: Shawn replied quicker and seems to be the better answer :)

    The "path" for mine is, as follows:

    Code:
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\
    Maybe you can edit yours
