computer unable to open files after a while, ok in safe mode

My desktop after a while will not open any programs or files. I would say after 30 min to an hour. I have to reset the computer manually and the whole issue happens again. This doesn't appear to happen in safe mode though. I've used multiple virus programs to remove them but the issue still remains. I run windows 7 32 bit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

    Hello prerunner97,

You could try a Clean Startup and see if you can determine a startup program you have that is causing the issue.
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

You stated "I've used multiple virus programs to remove them but the issue still remains."
Does that mean you found malware, and removed what was found?
If so, maybe there are still some malware problems?
I'm no Malware expert, but there is a SF System Security forum where you could add a thread explaining your issue, and experts there might be able to help you.

Also, as you stated "I've used multiple virus programs to remove them but the issue still remains."

Are you running more than one real-time anti-virus program at the same time?
If you are, that can cause problems.
    What real time anti-virus program(s), and real-time anti-malware program(s) are you using?

Using on-demand scanners should not be an issue...
