Is it Safe to Delete Contents of System Volume Info in External Drive

    I dunno, but I think you are seeing the same thing as me.
    SVI takes 0 space !
    How and why does the OP see 18%????

    Yes same thing I think David the only thing different is my D drive which contains a system image has a max usage under system protection of 1% which cannot be removed but I always thought that was something to do with the system imaging process (Of course I could be and usually am wrong lol)

    Well, I'm usually wrong too...
    I don't use USB external drives any more.
    I use a "tray" system for removable SATA drives...
    But, I have drives/partitions with backup images, data backups, whatever....

    In all cases I don't see any space used for SVI...
    I don't use Windows Backup Imaging, so I have that turned off.
    I use Acronis (and sometimes Macrium) for Imaging...

    Maybe external USB drives do use some "extra' space ....
