Folder renamed and vanished

Hi, I had a folder named "167". I changed it to "167..." to remind myself there were other folders between that number and the next that I still needed to collect. When I off-clicked into the window after renaming it the folder disappeared. I used the search bar and visually searched through the folder, both with show hidden folders on, but without success. Any information on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe using extra periods is the proper way of changing the name of a folder. Other than just doing a search folder and going through all of them I don't know of a way of finding that folder.

Sometimes a folder/file can't be renamed or moved
Recently, I been getting an unusual number of Win7 messages that a folder/file, etc can't be renamed/moved/whatever because something is using it. Sometimes the cause is obviously my "fault". Other times I can't determine what's holding things up. Sometimes the only thing in the taskbar is the...

Renamed a folder, now Windows can't find it?
Hi for long reasons I won't bore you with I had to rename a game folder. Now when I try to install a patch for the game it can't find it. The patch file doesn't ask me for the game directory, it just checks the Windows or wherever it looks for the game details. Is there a way of telling Windows...

My Documents folder inadvertently renamed
Either through my own fault or when importing my XP data into Win7 via the Windows 7 Easy Transfer Utility, I now have a C:\user\john\documents folder instead of a C:\user\john\My Documents folder (I still have the My Documents junction point). The "Documents" folder does not have a Location tab on...
